The truth is that all men must age. And die. I don’t fear the death part much but when it comes to aging, girl that sh-t is scary. Aging (and height) have been two of my biggest phobias for as long as I can remember. But I’ve recently come to make peace with the fact that aging is inevitable and I can only hope to approach aging with grace. Retinoids are magic. I don’t even know where to begin. I finally got a tretinoin prescription which I’ve been using for 3 months now and let me tell you something babyyyy. I could talk about tretinoin till the cows come home. But you don’t even need a prescription retinoid to flourish and that’s the best part. You can always grab any over-the-counter retinoid. It will work slower but any retinoid is still better than no retinoid. If you only have one anti-aging weapon, let It be a retinoid.

It hasn’t been up to a year I started using sunscreen religiously but I have already reaping most of its benefits. Harmful UV rays not only causes cancer, it promotes wrinkles and uneven skin tone. Regular use of sunscreen promotes even skin tone, helps to fade hyperpigmentation, and prevent sunburn. Sunscreen (and retinoids) are most researched and best-evidenced skincare products guaranteed to prevent and reverse aging. None of the other anti-aging tips you apply will work if you neglect daily sunscreen use. A solid skincare routine with sunscreen and retinoids remains the best weapon against aging.

Switch Up Your Lifestyle

This involves making adjustment to your diet, cutting out sugars and lowering salt intake, loading up on vegetables and fruits. Learn to sleep on your back or use silk pillowcases. Make exercise a priority. Drink plenty of water even more than 8 glasses but 8 is still a good place to start. It’s also time to quit smoking. Smoker’s lips is a real thing and you don’t want that. Go easy on the booze because nothing dehydrates the skin like alcohol. At the end of the day there’s only so much one can do but we have to try out best.

Invest in a Good Eye Cream

Not much can be done for puffy eyes, dark eye circles, and shadows but a good eye cream can still perform a little bit of magic.
